Kinlee's Story
Before there was a foundation, there was a little girl named Kinlee.
Kinlee Karter Owens was funny, sassy, creative, loving, and completely unforgettable. At just nine years old, she was diagnosed with DIPG—a devastating childhood brain cancer with no established cure.
For nearly 15 months, Kinlee fought a disease no child should ever have to face. Her fight changed our family forever—and ultimately became the reason this foundation exists.
Her fight didn't end. It changed hands.
What is DIPG?
DIPG is one of the most aggressive and devastating childhood brain cancers.

Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma develops in the brainstem—the area responsible for vital functions such as breathing, swallowing, movement, and heart rate.

There is currently no established cure. Radiation can temporarily improve symptoms or slow progression, but for most children, the tumor eventually begins growing again.

Approximately 300–400 children in the United States are diagnosed each year. Behind every one of those numbers is a child, a family, and a future that deserves more.

Children with DIPG deserve more than time.
They deserve a cure.
Our Mission
The Stinky Karter Foundation exists because kids deserve more than hope. They deserve a cure.

Born from Kinlee Karter Owens’ fight against DIPG, our mission is to turn her story into action by raising awareness, educating others, advocating for children and families, supporting those facing a DIPG diagnosis, and helping push toward a future where this disease no longer gets the final say.

Kinlee’s fight didn’t end—it changed hands.
Her Fight is Now OUR Fight.
